Summer CampThis Year our Summer Camp theme is "Unlock My Roar". God has given us an incedible message of hope that can literally change the world. Our dream is for this generation to radically live and boldly proclaim of the Gospel. Our Worship leaders this year are Cory Asbury, Christian Lewis and Daniel Bashta. Our speakers are Corey Russell and Scott Thompson. Please join us for this life changing event.
SUMMER CAMP INFORMATION
Transportation: Arrival and Departure Bus Reservations: You must ride the bus if you made a reservation. Any cancellations MUST be made by a parent/guardian and approved by camp leadership. The bus loads from 12:45-1:15pm and will leave from RiverStone Church (2005 Stilesboro Road, Kennesaw, GA 30152) at 1:30pm SHARP on Sunday, July 4th. We are scheduled to load up at 11:30am on Friday, July 9th for the return trip home. Please meet the bus at the same parking lot at 12:45pm. (the bus will not stop for lunch).
If you are NOT riding the bus: Plan to arrive at camp between 3-4pm on Sunday, July 4th. Please do not arrive any earlier or later. Camp closes at 11:30am on Friday, July 9th and campers will NOT be allowed to leave early. Parents should arrive before 11:30am on July 9th if the camper is not riding the bus home.
Directions To Camp: Take I-75 South to I-20 East. Go east on I-20 to Exit #93. Exit and turn right onto SR 142. (There is a new Wal-Mart on your right...one of the last good stops for items you may have forgotten!) Travel approximately one mile and cross over US 278 at the old Wal-Mart. Continue another 2.5 miles on SR 142 toward SR 36. (McDonald's and CVS will be on your left as you approach SR 36.) Turn left and go approximately 9 miles on SR 36 to the Georgia FFA-FCCLA camp entrance on the left (easily identifiable by the small guard house and large entrance sign). Continue on entrance road approximately one mile. YOU HAVE ARRIVED!
Check-In Procedure: 1) You will receive directions to the appropriate cabin upon arrival. 2) Bring a copy of your insurance card and report medical issues to the Camp Nurse BEFORE heading to your cabin. 3) Bring a check for any outstanding camp fees.
What To Bring: Everyone needs: BIBLE, notebook, pen, camp clothes (including messy clothes), tennis shoes (closed-toe shoes must be worn for all games), sandals, rain gear, costumes for special events, toiletries, sleeping bag or blanket and sheets, pillow, towels, washcloth. Other items you may want to bring include: swimsuit (one piece/tankini suits only), flashlight, fan, camera, extra batteries for camera, sunscreen, bug spray, baseball, glove, ping pong paddle, tennis racket. You may want to bring extra spending money for snacks and beverages available during free time AND our Resource Center in which CD's, books, journals, t-shirts, etc. will be for sale.
Special Events: Paint Ball: If you want to play Paint Ball, please bring OLD long sleeve shirts, long pants and shoes to wear. Bring cash to purchase your paint pellets and CO2. Fee: $10 per round Evening Activities: Sunday - Obstacle Course...Must wear closed-toe shoes! Monday - Cabin Competition Tuesday - Special Guest Wednesday - Cabin Competition Thursday - Dance..."Zoo Bash 2010!" Come as your favorite zoo animal!
Impact Groups: Don't forget to bring necessary equipment (guitars, tennis racquets, etc.) for the leisure impact groups you signed up for. Photographers...you may bring your camera but you will be responsible for it during camp.
Evening Worship Service: Parents are invited to attend our evening worship services. Sunday: 7pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: 8:30pm
Summer Camp Sunday Service: All campers and their families are invited to join us at our RiverStone worship services on Sunday, July 11th at 9 & 11am. This is our oppportunity to share camp experiences with the entire RiverStone congregation. There will also be an opportunity for campers to be baptized at these services. You won't want to miss this conclusion to the camp week!
