Harrison and Taylor DeJarnett - Dahlonega, GA

Ministry Description: My wife, Taylor, and I were married in July 2009 and right afterwards we moved to Dahlonega where I took a position on staff at the NGCSU Wesley Foundation.  Taylor commutes from Dahlonega to Northside Hospital in Atlanta where she is a nurse in the High Risk Perinatal department.  We met and dated during our years in Athens where she was pursuing her nursing degree at MCG in Athnes and I was at UGA.  While we were students we were both very involved with the UGA Wesley Foundation and after we graduated, I went on to work there for a year as a worship intern while she worked in Atlanta.

I grew up in France where my parents, Jeff and Kibbie DeJarnett, and my family were missionaries for 11 years.  RiverStone played a huge part in our lives, not only through their monetary support, but through their prayer and the priority they placed on maintaining close relationships with us.  Once we came home, I was able to be involved with the youth group and worship team and was fortunate to stay involved all the way through college.  Now I am fortunate enough to not only be supported by RiverStone but also work closely with staff and members of all three of its churches, many of whom went before me at the UGA Wesley Foundation and played a big part in my growth and development in ministry.

I came to join the NGCSU Wesley Foundation as their worship leader with a vision of not only getting their worship ministry started but being able to raise up and empower students to go out and make disciples of Jesus Christ.  In addition to our weekly community groups and worship services, we are heavily geared towards one-on-one discipleship where those of us on staff and some of our older students are able to pour into some of the younger one, with the vision of them going on to disciple people of their own.  Thus, when students graduate, they will be able to go out into the churches and seek people with whom to create these types of relationships.  Another part of my job is to lead our Men's group as well as our outreach team.  The Lord has been working in all these areas and it has been exciting to see some of the young men truly step up into accountablitilty and prayer and pursuing purity.  My wife, Taylor, is also able to minister alongside me in addition to her work at the hospital.  She has begun to disciple some of the older girls on leadership who are in turn beginning to meet with some of the younger students as well.
