There are many opportunities to serve God while investing in His children and the Kingdom. For more information about any of these leadership opportunities, contact the Garden office at 678.384.5211.
Shepherds
A committed shepherd leads each cell group in the Garden. Cell groups begin in our nursery, and continue through 5th grade. Shepherd recruitment and sign up begins in May of each year, and continues through the summer months. Cell groups begin mid-August, and continue through the end of May. Adults and teens (7th grade and up) who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ are welcome to seek information about this getting involved in this particular area of the ministry.
Support Teams
The Garden has a team of dedicated volunteers who support the ministry is various ways.
Area Support Teams greet children, set up cell group areas, handle materials for cell groups, and do some light administrative work. These people work closely with the staff to ensure that each child is in a safe and inviting environment.
Garden Greeters support the ministry by greeting and signing in visiting children and their parents, sending welcome cards, and keeping records of visitors. Greeters are the first face of our ministry to children and parents.
Special Event Teams vary in each area, and throughout the year. Special event teams serve by planning and implementing special events such as Kidnections, Family Fun Events, and other special nights in the Garden.
Hospitality Teams support the Garden's goal to build community among shepherds, other volunteers, and the leadership staff throughout the year. This team plans community-building events in the Garden each year and then sees those events to completion. The team's planning includes invitations, a meal or other refreshments, and decorations.
Set Design Teams support the Garden leadership team in decorating the areas in appropriate themes based on what they are learning. The sets for the younger children change approximately once a month and are changed quarterly for the older children. These volunteers create the type of environment that fosters learning and spiritual growth.
Outreach Teams support the Garden's mission to serve and give back to others that are less fortunate than us. One Sunday of each month, the Garden children 1st-5th grade participate in an outreach/service project. Garden children 3k-5k participate in an outreach service about 5 times a year. For these special Outreach Sundays, a dedicated team of volunteers plan, organize, and lead the projects.
We would love for you to consider volunteering in our ministry in one of these areas. Contact the Garden staff if you are interested: childcare@riverstoneonline.org for nursery - 2K. lori@riverstoneonline.org for 3K - 5K. haley@riverstoneonline.org for 1st-5th grades.
